Homa Bay County governor Gladys Wanga has stated that she will be unable to accompany President Ruto as she attends a church function in the County on Sunday, 2rd October, stating that she is out of the county for official purposes.
“HE The President, Dr. William Ruto, is today 2nd October 2022 scheduled to visit Homa Bay Town to worship with us at the AIC Church. I wish to extend a warm welcome to The President on behalf of the great people of Homa Bay and request him to feel at home.
I am, however out of the county on official duty and will therefore be unable to join HE for the church service and have communicated the same to His Excellency.
The people of Homa Bay have a culture of great hospitality and will warmly receive The President as he visits to pray with us.” Wanga stated.
Homa Bay County strongly voted for Ruto’s opponent Raila Odinga and the President is on the run to try and unite the country in pursuing his agenda.
In reaction, a section of netizens feels that the governor’s action to miss the event planned prior is suspicious.
Here are the reactions from some of them.

@gladyswangaand area MP@gpdkalumaare conspicuously missing doesn’t mean well for the region. Our leaders should rise beyond petty politics and embrace the new administration.
