2020/2021 European champions Chelsea have joined Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Napoli, Real Madrid and Club Brugge after edging RB Salzburg 2-1. Matteo Kovacic scored a beautiful volley to give the visitors an early lead in the first half before Adamu canceled the goal in the 48th minute before Kai Harvetz’s top corner shot sealed the victory for the current world champions.

However, Chelsea had multiple chances that they failed to score as the Salzburg goalkeeper had brilliant saves to keep the momentum. Chelsea played a beautiful sensational game, as they had plenty of time on the ball.

This was Graham Potter’s 9th game since joining Chelsea from Brighton Albion. He has won six games and drawn three, which is impressive after a faulty start under Thomas Tuchel. Chelsea will face Brighton on Saturday.

Despite the tough fixture, manager Graham potter has succeeded in turning Chelsea’s woes within a short period as they have transformed into an attacking-minded side despite key starts, e.g., Reece James sustaining injuries. Other players include Ngolo Kante and Wesley Fofana and today, Kovacic was forced to come out limped. Full reports will be communicated on due time.

Chelsea will be back next week for the final group stages game against Dinamo Zagreb.
