The world’s leading messaging platform, Whatsapp, has been restored after a global outrage that affected millions of users. The Meta company owns the platform.

Meta communicated that the problem had been solved without giving details on the cause. The users could not send or receive messages across the globe, eliciting social media reactions as the hashtag #whatsappdown trended globally.

Over 12,000 reports were posted within just an hour, according to the service status Down detector.

The outrage has a significant impact since the WhatsApp platform is the leading messaging media used globally.

“We know people had trouble sending messages on Whatsapp Today,we have fixed the issu and apologize for any inconvenience.”The statement read.

This is not the first time that Whatsapp media has experienced this challenge. Fortunately, the company has sustained itself in a nick of time as some users cannot detect the problem. It is synonymous with a poor internet connection.
