Manchester United was linked with the PSV forward during the summer but opted to buy Ajax’s Anthony at a hundred million euros.
Gakpo had a brilliant world cup campaign as he netted goals against Senegal and Ecuador before champions Argentina knocked out the Dutch side in the quarter-finals.
Reports indicated that Gakpo was headed to Old Trafford to strengthen Erik Ten Hag’s striking alongside Martial, Rashford and Anthony. This is after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Liverpool sealed the 37 million euros transfer shortly after being linked to the club. Most pundits have analyzed that the youngster will be the solution to Liverpool’s attacking woes alongside Mohammed Salah. Summer signing Darwin Nunez hasn’t performed well.
Confirmed, Cody Gakpo will sign until June 2028. Six year deal as Liverpool player. Contracts are being prepared. 🔴📑 #LFC
