Liverpool is having one of the toughest seasons under Manager Jurgen Kloop. They are in the sixth position garnering 28 points after 17 games. The team has performed dismally since the beginning of the season in all aspects compared to their longtime rivals Manchester City.

After selling key star Sadio Mane this summer to Bayern Munich, Liverpool bought Uruguay star Darwin Nunez from Benfica at a staggering  £ 85 million plus £21.5m adds on. However, the star hasn’t been able to match the expectations fans had in September.

Nunez has so far scored 5 goals and assisted two times. After winning the community shield in October, comparisons with Manchester City star Erling Haaland rose as many people backed Nunez, who scored a goal as Haaland struggled to create a chance in the rigid Liverpool backline.

Liverpool’s performance deteriorated as Nunez suffered global trolls after recording 15 missed chances out of 19. Is this enough to say that he is out of form, or has he already flopped?

Manchester record signing Anthony was bought at £ 86 million and stored three EPL goals. When asked about Nunez, Liverpool manager Klopp defended him “I think Lewy [Lewandoski] should tell the same story. We had shooting sessions where he didn’t finish one. We had bets of about 10 euros.’If you score more than 10 times, I pay you ten. If you don’t, you have to pay me. My pocket was full of money.”
