The world of football is mourning the passing away of Ghanian born footballer Christian Atsu following the aftermath of an earthquake which took place in Turkey and Syria two weeks ago.
Atsu played for Turkish side Hatayspor, formerly represented big football clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle, Fc Porto, Everton and Bournemouth. He played 258 matches in his career and scored 24 goals with 30 assists.
The player’s agent Nana Senchere confirmed the sad news. “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well-wishers that, sadly, Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning. My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support.”
Football fans and stakeholders worldwide are streaming their condolences to the family and friends of the late 31-year-old star.
