President Uhuru Kenyatta established the Office of the Chief Administrative Secretary under Article 132(4) (a) of the Constitution as read with Section 30 of the Public Service Commission Act, 2017. Later the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) challenged the decision; the court dismissed it. The office has been the tool for rewarding poll losers and political loyalists.

Here are the benefits CASs will enjoy fully funded by taxpayers’ money.

  • Medical cover:    Ksh 3,000,000
