Citizen Tv aired an investigative feature on a possible tragic love life that ended the life of Kiru Boys high school principal Mr. Solomon Mwangi in 2016.
Solomon Mwangi went missing on November 2016 as other principals collected the national examination for their respective schools. He was nowhere to be seen. It was later discovered that he had been murdered.
His wife Jane Muthoni was linked to the murder after a suspected love triangle involving a lady who worked as an MPESA agent. Together with Isaac Nganga, she was jailed by Justice Joel Ngugi after one of the compliances testified against her. Jane Muthoni was the principal of Icaciri secondary school.
In 2021, Jane Muthoni unsuccessfully tried to bar Judge Justice Ngugi from ruling the case after being denied bail terms. Her accomplice, Joseph Kariuki alias Karis, became a state witness and confessed that Muthoni had hired them to kill Solomon.
Jane had administered a strong sedative on Solomon before delivering him to the gang that murdered him and dumped his body in a thicket in the Juja area along the Thika super highway.
Despite all the information pointing her against this atrocity, Jane says she is innocent.
