Inter Miami and F.C. Cincinnati played to a 3-3 draw in regulation and extra time in their U.S. Open Cup semifinal on Wednesday night, with Inter Miami advancing to the final on penalties 5-4.

The match was wild, with both teams having chances to win. Cincinnati took a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals from Luciano Acosta and Brandon Vazquez. Messi’s influence was seen in the game when he assisted twice to Leo Campana to force the game into extra time.
The match went to extra time, and Inter Miami took the lead through Josef Martinez. However, Cincinnati equalized again in the 114th minute on a goal from Yuya Kubo.
In the penalty shootout, Inter Miami converted all five of their penalties, while Cincinnati could not convert all of their kicks. Nick Hagglund missed Cincinnati’s final kick in the shootout, while youngster Benjamin Cremaschi sealed the victory for Inter Miami.
Inter Miami will face the Inter Miami will take on the Houston Dynamo F.C. in the U.S. Open Cup final on September 27.
The U.S. Open Cup final is a significant opportunity for Inter Miami to win its first trophy. The team will be hoping that Messi can lead them to victory. Messi has been in superb form; he has been involved in his last eight games with either a goal or an assist.
