Apple finally launched their flagship smartphone, iPhone 15 and 15 Pro, in the Apple event yesterday, the 12th of September. The series features several upgrades over the previous generation. The conspicuous feature includes introducing the Type C- Charger; other key features include a new A16 Bionic chip, a 48MP main camera, and a new design with slimmer bezels.
In this review, we’ll look closer at the iPhone 15 and see how it performs. We’ll also compare it to the competition to see how it stacks up.
Design:
The iPhone 15 has a similar design to the iPhone 14 but has some subtle changes. The bezels are slimmer, and the notch has been replaced by a pill-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors.
The iPhone 15 is available in four colors: Graphite, Silver, Gold, and Sierra Blue.
Display:
The iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 2532 x 1170 pixels resolution. The display is bright, colorful, and sharp. It also supports HDR playback.
Performance:
The new A16 Bionic chip, the fastest smartphone chip, powers the iPhone 15. The A16 Bionic chip makes the iPhone 15 incredibly fast and responsive. It also makes it capable of running even the most demanding apps and games.
Camera:
The iPhone 15 has a triple-lens rear camera system. The main lens is a 48MP sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. The ultrawide lens is a 12MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The telephoto lens is a 12MP sensor with an f/2.8 aperture and 3x optical zoom.
The iPhone 15’s camera system takes great photos in various lighting conditions. The new 48MP main sensor captures more detail than the previous generation, and the new ultrawide lens is wider than the previous generation. The telephoto lens also has a longer zoom range, making it great for taking close-up photos.
Battery Life:
The iPhone 15 has a slightly improved battery life over the iPhone 14. It can easily last a full day on a single charge.
Software:
The iPhone 15 runs iOS 16, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system. iOS 16 includes a number of new features, such as Live Text, Visual Look Up, and Stage Manager.
